I haven't made mine yet. I couldn't find the cherries with the stems for months. Now that I have them, I'm thinking of putting each mouse in a small candy paper cup (like the cupcake papers) Would look cute if there was a nest in the cup. What would you suggest that is eatable? shredded coconut was an idea.

I made these without paraffin and they turned out just fine. I added a little shortening to make the chocolate just a little creamier and took out the butter. I'm new to working with chocolate and overheated my first batch, you really have to turn the burner off when you see about 5 little chunks of chocolate left. I also made some white chocolate ones but the chocolate didn't stick as well, the red shows through more. I thought they looked cool, but I'm not sure the point gets across as well. I was also worried because like usual, the maraschino's I got weren't perfectly round. Slightly shriveled, pitted poorly, etc. The chocolate covers most of these imperfections. Just tried my best to face the holes down if I remembered where they were. It took me a few trials to get these right, but if it's not freezing cold in your house I suggest covering all of the cherries first and placing them on the sheet in the order you covered them. Then go back and place the faces on after the chocolate sits a little, not ""immediately"" after. I find if you put it on immediately that the chip would just fall down. Then as I'm pairing the almonds together it seems like enough time for the chip to adhere just enough to make it easy to wedge in the almonds. I let them sit in the fridge a little before I did the eyes. They are awesome!

I tried to make these for a bake sale we were involved in. Four of us worked on them. They are way more trouble than they are worth! The ears would NOT stand up straight, they kept falling down. Also, the chocolate chip for the nose was way too small (it was a regular sized chocolate chip too). Cute idea - but isn't very easy to put together.

I did these adorable little mice last year at Halloween. Everyone loved them, except for one little girl who took one look and ran back to her mother yelling ""those mice are looking at me---get the fly swatter""!!!! Of course, she did enjoy eating them! Takes some time, but worth the effort. Goofy Grandma235

We made these the other night. They were a hit and so darn cute no one wanted to eat them! Instead of using a chocolate chip we used a regular hershey kiss. You HAVE to make these, they are perfect for any party, get together, whatever! Everyone will rave! Thanks!
