I have a recipe to make Kfc chicken fryApril 02, 2012 By Divyapramil
This recipe did not match kfc chicken in any way, but I have a recipe that I personally tried today, INGREDIENTS Chicken - 250 grams (boneless) Oats - 1 cup Egg - 1 Roasted chana dal powder - 1 spoon (optional) Red chilli powder - 1 spoon Ginger-Garlic paste - 1 spoon Lemon juice - 1 spoon Salt PREPARATION METHOD Take the boneless chicken pieces, chop into smaller parts and clean once more. Separate egg white from the yolk and keep egg white aside. We are going to use the egg white. In a bowl make a mixture of the following ingredients; Egg white + ginger-garlic paste + Red chilli powder + Lemon juice + Salt Take the chicken pieces and marinate with the prepared mixture. Leave the marinated chicken pieces undisturbed for half an hour. In a blender/mixer add oats, a pinch of salt and roasted chana dal powder and just give a pulse and keep it aside. Do not grind it just give a pulse and stop. Now coat the marinated chicken pieces with the oats mixture and deep fry/shallow fry the pieces until they become slightly brownish. Remove from flame and serve with sauce!!!! Yummy homemade KFC chicken fry is ready!!! TIP 1: Roasted chana dal is not necessary, it is just and added flavor and helps in binding easily. But it is not essential. TIP 2: Do not grind the oats mixture, just a pulse will do. Be careful not to over grind, if you are not sure don't grind it use oats as it is. TIP 3: I chose breast part of chicken, but you can use any part you want. With or without bone, its your choice. TIP 4: Atleast half an hour marination is essential to make the chicken soft and absorb the masala. TIP 5: People who are health conscious can shallow fry the chicken pieces.

This Is Not Even Close to KFCJanuary 01, 2012 By DanHansen
Just tried this recipe today, 01/01/2012. This is the worst recipe I have ever tried for chicken. We did this recipe to the very letter except for the lard. We used peanut oil instead of lard because we already had it as it is supposed to be the best cooking oil on the planet. Well, the chicken came out so dark and overcooked on the outside and I even lowered the oil temp and same thing. We used a pressure cooker as well because I was hoping to actually have some chicken that tasted close to KFC. I was so disappointed that I figured it would be better to just go buy the chicken from KFC when we wanted it but it is so expensive. However, by the time I buy the chicken, clean it up, buy all the stuff for the recipe and then do all the work and clean up, the cost from KFC would be a bargain. The chicken I cooked today is such a disappointment, it will end up in the garbage can. What a way to start the 2012 New Year. Don't waste your time or money on this one. If anyone actually has a recipe for this chicken that really does taste close to KFC, please let me know. Thank you!

KFC? No so muchNovember 20, 2011 By Summer.Nguyen
Just made this recipe last night, and unfortunately it’s not even remotely close, not to mention these ingredients are expensive!!! I bought everything listed in the recipe and it came to $67 including the chicken! So if you do not already have a well appointed spice rack, don't bother! That said, the recipe yielded decent enough chicken, but more like typical homemade than KFC. Also, due the high salt and paprika, the chicken turns too dark too soon which makes gauging cook time difficult. I think those ingredients should probably be halved. Bottom line, this ""KFC recipe"" tastes no different than your aunts bad chicken. I actually threw my batch out after a couple of bites, since for me fried foods are a treat; and I am not about to waste my annual chicken treat on some regular homemade tasting chicken. Tonight, I’m heading to Popeye’s! Bye, hehe.

Try using peanut oil instead of the Crisco and if you like a little less spice cut the chili powder in half ... very good recipe

I have come to a conclusionOctober 10, 2011 By Ste_en
im in canada and i tried this recipe yesterday,i followed it right down to the minute, all the ingredients perfectly and found that this tastes nothing like our local kfc's chicken.i actually found this recipe to taste more like frozen food isle battered chicken. I have tried many different attempts at making this chicken and i think part of the problem is that maybe the recipe might actually be different is some areas..as the people that put this one together say its the closest possible i find its not even close.this recipe tastes great if you put some franks on it after.makes a great base for hot sauce.

The chili powder is not the right spice . . .December 15, 2010 By cathorse
While the pressure fryer can be a pain, it really adds to the succulent texture of the chicken. Another option is to fry for 15 minutes and then bake (350 degrees) the chicken for another 25 minutes - it gives a similiar texture. I found out from an employee that the chicken is held in a special oven after frying. The chili gives the chicken more of a Mexican food recipe. I have found using sweet paprika instead of chili powder works for an original recipe flavor, while adding a small dash of hot sauce works for a crispy spicy flavor (but not the texture). Optional is a tsp of sugar in the batter.
