    a great cakeDecember 14, 2009 By lizzzybaby
Im staying in Turkey at the moment so i got to use a fresh pomegranate for this recipe. I followed the instructions completey and the cake turned out great. the only thing is there is no such thing as cake flour so i made it myself. 1 cup flour, 2 teaspoons cornflour and half a teaspoon of baking powder, then i sifted it around 4-5 times. i also didnt use the entire glass of pomegrante as they are sour but you can get sweet pomegranates which i think would work better for this recipe if you want it sweeter. Also i would use a full cup of sugar as its quite sour, which is fine for my taste. another tip: add the seeds in a handfull into the mixture. Also it is a little acidic i was thinking about using baking soda to counteract the acidity which i will try next time.

healthy and so tastyNovember 05, 2009 By angelique1983
hey i just try it, and it is delicious, i don't know what the other reviews are talking about, yes it is tangy but great, i even taste the pomegranate but first time, really, I'm from Peru and there this fruit is not so popular, now i live in Turkey and my mother in law buy pomegranate for us, and well we are not that great fruit eaters, so i look for a recipe and this is fantastic, thank you very much. PS. I need a good tip about choosing this fruit, how i can know it is mature and full of seeds????

    Light and tangy...November 11, 2008 By collectiblegal
This light cake really shows off the tangy flavor of pomegranates. I was lazy and used bottled pomegranate juice, which worked fine. I made this before reading the other two comments. I cannot imagine what they did wrong because mine came out fine. However, if you don't like pomegranates, you won't like this cake. We enjoyed it. Oh, and I did use the powdered sugar on top but didn't bother with the fancy-smancy doily pattern.

something is wrongNovember 15, 2007 By fellisa
i tried to make this twice and to no avail. i even bought cake flour for the 2nd go around. it came out like a jelly rather than a cake. when i read the ingredients to my mom who knows her stuff alot better than i do she couldn't figure out how it would be a cake w/ even amounts of flour and juice. so if anyone has any ideas please let me know.it soulnds so good.
