I have been experimenting and searching for a lovely yellow cake recipe. One that is flavorful and moist. Recipe after recipe I have been disappointed. Until this one. The flavor is very good. It is moist and has a nice crumb. Holds together nicely for decorating too. My search is over.

Simple and great recipe. Cake turned out soft and tasty. Anyone can make this, just make sure to follow the recipe carefully. I beat the butter well then added sugar. Beat these till well blended and creamy. I think this is a very important step. Eggs should be added one by one. I did not use the mixer to mix the flour and sour cream. I folded in alternately by hand.

This is by far the best yellow cake recipe I have ever made. I do A LOT of baking for family and friends and this recipe is great for cakes, cupcakes, etc. I also add melted chocolate to some of the batter and swirl it in to the cake batter to make a nice marbled cake. I would definitely try it if you are wanting a nice, moist cake recipe. It's one of our favorites!
