Sesame seed sprouts are edible and easy to grow in your kitchen with raw sesame seeds. You can use this method for other edible sprouts as well.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup fresh untreated raw sesame seeds
- 1 cup water
Preparation:
Place raw sesame seeds in a canning jar with a 1 part seeds to 4 parts ratio of water and soak 4 to 5 hours.
Drain seeds well using nylon netting or cheesecloth.
Place sesame seeds in the jar. Put the lid on the jar, turn it on its side and place in a dark place. Rinse and drain the seeds twice a day. They should sprout within 2 to 4 days.
When the sesame seed sprouts are well-formed, place the jar in a sunny location so the sprouts can turn a bright green. When they are 1/4 to 1/2-inch long, they are ready to eat.
