Baby Bam Spice Seasoning Mix Recipe

User Rating 5 Star Rating (2 Reviews)

Emeril is known for his spicy Cajun dishes. This spice mix is much tamer than the usual, so it will appeal to kids and those who cannot handle the fire of most Cajun seasonings.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

  • 3 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt

Place paprika, salt, parsley, onion powder, garlic powdere, black pepper, oregano, basil, thyme, and celery salt in a mixing bowl. Stir well to combine, using a wooden spoon. Store in an airtight container for up to three months.

Yield: about 3/4 cup

Emeril says: "You fearless bammers out there can kick this up a notch by adding cayenne (I'd start with about 1/4 teaspoon, and then take it from there)."

I Can't Cook Without It!! Can't Eat Without It!!, Member Stephfie

I love this stuff. I don't add the salt, but I do add the celery salt. I tell you this is one seasoning that can go with any and everything. I made this one and some others and gave them as Christmas gifts to my sisters and my mom. One of my brothers-in-law has gotten down to just a little bit left in his bottle and now he only uses it on special dishes. I gave them the recipe so they could replenish the ones they really like. Who knows what happened to it? I told Mom to tell him either call me or look on the 'Net for Baby Bam. I tell you this seasoning is way better than sliced bread. I am serious when I say I can't eat without it. Seasoning salt is not the move at all. I can't stand that salty taste. But Baby Bam is just plain and simply the best thing going. And I like making my own because for some reason it tastes better than the one I bought at Wal-Mart. Yes, I bought it because when I moved, I didn't have my seasonings and I had to have something to season my food with. I saw it in Wal-Mart less expensive than in Kroger's and so I bought it, simple!! So those of you who have not tried it yet -- you are missing out on a GREAT thing!! Keep it up, Emeril!! But your sauces are a lot too spicy for the young ones. Give us something for the little ones so they don't feel left out!!
