Use this French spice mix to flavor soups, stews, and vegetables.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 heaping Tbsp black peppercorns
- 2 tsp whole cloves
- 2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground ginger
Preparation:
Grind the peppercorns and cloves together in a spice grinder or coffee mill. Remove to a bowl and add nutmeg and ginger. Mix thoroughly. Funnel into an airtight jar and store in a cool, dark place.Use Four Spice mix to season soups, stews, and vegetables. May be doubled or tripled.
Yield: about 1/8 cup
