Green Goddess Salad Dressing Recipe

Garlic, green onions, avocado, and anchovy paste flavor this savory salad dressing made famous by a San Francisco restaurant.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 1-1/2 Tablespoons anchovy paste
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons spice blend or seasoned salt
  • 3 Tablespoons finely chopped parsley
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 medium sweet onion, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon tarragon vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon whole celery seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 ripe avocado, mashed
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Few drops green food coloring, optional

PREPARATION:

Place mayonnaise, anchovy paste, sour cream, spice blend or seasoned salt, parsley, garlic, onion, dry mustard, tarragon vinegar, celery seeds, thyme, avocado, Worcestershire sauce, and food coloring in a heavy-duty blender and process until smooth.

Chill green goddess dressing before serving. Refrigerate leftovers and use within 1 week.

Yield: about 3 cups
