Break away from the traditional pineapple ham and try this cherry orange glaze. It is fast and easy because the glaze is made with canned cherry pie filling and orange marmalade.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 (21 ounces) can cherry pie filling, drained and syrup retained
  • 1/8 cup sweet sherry or sweet red wine
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup orange marmalade
  • .
  • 1 (5 to 7 pounds) ham

Preparation:

Combine cherry pie filling syrup (reserve the whole cherries) with sherry, orange juice, and marmalade, whisking until combined.

Bake ham according to package directions. Thirty minutes before ham is done, remove from the oven and score the fat in a criss-cross diamond pattern. Coat the ham with the cherry orange glaze.

Bake an additional 30 minutes, basting with pan juices every 10 minutes, or until ham is done.

Garnish finished ham with the reserved whole cherries and serve.

Yield: about 2 cups sauce
