Cinnamon Applesauce Ornaments Recipe

You need only cinnamon and applesauce to make these delicious-smelling ornaments for Christmas or holidays. No cooking or baking is necessary, making it a great project for kids. They will need a few days to air-dry, so plan ahead. This traditional non-edible recipe is great for kitchen gifts.

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 to 1 cup applesauce
  • 1 bottle ground cinnamon (approx 4.23 ounces)

Preparation:

Mix the applesauce with the cinnamon to make a stiff dough, kneading well to combine.

Place cinnamon applesauce dough between two pieces of plastic wrap and roll out to 1/4-inch thickness. Use your favorite cookie cutters to cut shapes. Use a straw to cut a hole for ribbon.

Let ornaments air-dry on racks for several days, turning occasionally, until hard. Thread with ribbons to hang. This traditional non-edible recipe is great for kitchen gifts.

Yield: about 12 cinnamon applesauce ornaments
