Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup peeled, seeded lychees, drained and finely diced (see Note)
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves garlilc, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 3 dashes hot sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Preparation:
Combine lychees, ketchup, white wine, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, chili powder, hot sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil, lower heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes or until thickened.
Use lychee barbecue sauce on meat, poultry, and seafood.
Note: Lychees are also called litchis. This recipe calls for the fresh or canned lychees, not the dried lychee nuts.
