Didn't Rise At all, Member diamroyal

This looked like a great recipe, with a few different techniques, but unfortunately, the cake didn't rise at all, and there wasn't really enough batter for a two layer cake. Also, although the frosting is tasty, the sugar never really integrated so it's very gritty.
