It may seem an odd combination, but the sweetness of the apple plays well with the saltiness of the sardines. The sour cream pulls it all together.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 (3-1/4 ounce) cans sardines
- 1 cup red apple, unpeeled and diced
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 1/3 cup sour cream
Preparation:
Drain sardines and cut into bite-size chunks. Sprinkle apple cubes with lemon juice.Toss with celery, sour cream, and sardines until well coated. Serve with pumpernickel toasts.
Yield: 8 servings
