Gruyére Cheese Recipes
If you have arrived here via a search engine, do not miss the full article on Swiss Cheese which includes history, selection, storage, and cooking tips. Gruyére cheese is named for the Gruyere valley of Fribourg, Switzerland. Like other Swiss cheeses, it is riddled with holes. This one is aged up to one year and has a rich, sweet, almost nutty flavor. France also makes a good version. Check the label as a processed Gruyére cannot compare to the original in flavor.
