The bottom is an oatmeal cookie base, while the top is a luscious brownie layer. Use your food processor to quickly whip up this chocolate brownie dessert.

Ingredients:
- Oatmeal Bottom Layer:
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) =cold= butter, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/3 cup firm-packed dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1-1/2 cups quick cooking oatmeal
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- Brownie Layer:
- 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped roughly into 1-inch pieces
- 1-1/4 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1-1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) =cold= butter, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1-1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup minature chocolate chips
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a 9 x 9-inch baking pan with nonstick foil.To Make Oatmeal Bottom Layer:
Place cold butter, brown sugar, flour, oatmeal, and salt in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the metal blade. Pulse about 10 times until the mixture is crumbly. Do not over-process.
Press mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake 10 minutes, until lightly browned. Let cool about 5 minutes while making the brownie layer.
To Make Brownie Layer:
Place chocolate and sugar in the food processor and process until finely-chopped. Add eggs, cold butter, and vanilla. Process until well-combined. Add flour and pulse until combined. Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips.
Spread evenly on top of oatmeal layer and bake about 25 minutes until it tests done. (A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.)
Cool to room temperature before cutting to serve.
Yield: 36 brownies
