Although this recipe for the cookie press is good year-round, it's especially good for holiday cookies. You may know these as "spritz" cookies, a reference to the way they exude or squirt from the cookie press. Gather the kids and have a decorating party, adorning the cookies with icing, sprinkles, chocolate jimmies, colored sugar crystals, or whatever tickles your fancy. The cookies have a wonderful rich flavor thanks to the cream cheese. They hold up well for gifts from the kitchen. If you don't have time to decorate them, they are just as tasty unadorned.
