Chestnut stuffing is a Thanksgiving comfort food for many. It was my Grandmother's preferred dressing. The chestnuts are an added texture and flavor that goes perfectly with the turkey. I prefer the stuffing cooked inside the bird, but it may be baked separately as a casserole. For a change, I sometimes add dried cranberries or 1/2 cup whole-berry cranberry sauce.
