
Beef chuck roast is slowly braised with onions and dark beer to tender perfection. The onions will break down and combine with the beer to create a rich and flavorful natural gravy. Serve with buttered noodles or rice.

First time I made this I used Black Butte Porter and white onions; thinking that yellow onions would be sweeter. There was a sweetness to this version that must come from the chocolate in the beer. Second version used Guniness for the beer and red onions. Not as sweet. Delicious both was.
