The sweet, delicious flesh of the fig was long used as a sweetener before the advent of refined sugars. Figs enhance both savory dishes and desserts. I love figs and feel that they are so under used in the culinary world. The biggest regret I have about figs is that their season is too short. I can’t wait to try the recipes especially the Figs Stuffed with Tapenade the combinations sound enticing. Speaking of enticing I just found a wonderful fig recipe on Kathyireland.com.
