Beer-Can Chicken Recipe

Saturday June 14, 2008
Beer-can chicken is quite popular these days. It's an easy no-brainer recipe for a slow-roasted flavorful chicken. The open can becomes a prop for the whole chicken which can be cooked on a slow-fire grill or in the oven. As the bird heats, so does the liquid in the can, creating a plume of steam into the interior of the chicken. The result is a moist and flavorful chicken. If you don't want to use beer, you can use the same method with a standard vegetable can filled with fruit juice or broth with spices. If you have the cooking space, the same method can be used for a turkey using a larger can. Beer-can chicken is a recipe that is sure to elicit conversation. Do not expect to have any leftovers!
