Cooking with Amaretto
Thursday February 21, 2008
Amaretto is a liqueur with an almond flavor, but surprisingly, it may or may not contain almonds. You may find it hard to believe that importation of amaretto liqueur to the United States did not occur until the 1960's. The almond-flavored cordial quickly became a hit in cocktails and food preparation. Although you will probably think of using amaretto in desserts first, it is also good with savory foods, such as Amaretto Almond Encrusted Lamb DiSaronno®. You might also like to try your hand at making homemade amaretto liqueur. Try using amaretto in your recipes for a romantic meal.
